We shoot RAW photos on iPhone and wanted to improve the experience!
Since Apple introduced the RAW photo format, we often shoot and edit RAW on our iPhones. But over the years, our phones filled up with these large images. Things accelerated with the iPhone 14 Pro and Apple’s amazing new 48MP mode—some of these images are over 140MB each! With over 200,000 photos on our phone, our 2TB iCloud storage plan maxed out. 😂
When it came time to manage our RAW photos—when we no longer needed the editing power of RAW, or we wanted to enable 48MP ProRAW mode to capture a 48MP photo that we didn’t need to edit—we couldn’t find any simple or inexpensive solutions. So we wrote SMAWL to fill our needs.
